CAUTIONS:

DO NOT DROP YOUR PINPAL. Your PinPal has sensitive electronic components inside. Dropping the unit could cause damage. This type of damage is not covered under warranty.

DONT FORGET TO REMOVE YOUR PINPAL FROM THE GAME.

When using the PinPal, you will have a substantially increased immersive experience. You likely will play better and enjoy the game at a different level than before. It is easy to forget the PinPal exists and walk away. If you are lucky you will hear the next person play and realize you need to go back and remove it.

DO NOT PLACE YOUR PINPAL on non-magnetic speaker grills or grills that do not support a solid placement. The unit may fall on to the game or roll on to the floor. There are very few games that have this issue, but it is important to be aware.

Charging:

To charge your PinPal, plug the supplied charging cable into a charger. Plug the other end into the charge port on the PinPal(located on the bottom side of the main larger left-side unit). The charging time is around 10 minutes of charge time per 1 hr. of use. You should be able to use your PinPal for about 3-4 hours on a full charge. When you plug the PinPal into a charger, the LED will be red indicating that the unit is charging. When the LED goes dark, the unit is charged. To charge your headset, plug the supplied cable into the charge port of the headset. The headset has about 30 hours of use available after a full charge.

Pairing:

POWER ON THE HEADSET

Just like any other bluetooth device, the PinPal must be paired to a headset or other listening device before use. Once the PinPal is paired properly, it should reconnect to the paired device after they have both been turned on in the future. To pair your PinPal to any headset, turn on the headset and place in pairing mode. As for the headset that comes with the PinPal, you must press the power button (when the headset is off) and hold the power button down for 5 seconds until the headset blue LED flashes fast. The power button is between the volume up button and volume down button. For other headsets or listening devices, you will need to lookup the method to get your device into pairing mode.

POWER ON THE PINPAL

Using your thumb, hold the PinPal in the palm of you hand and firmly press down on the power tab located on the side of the unit. The LED inside the unit by the tab will flash blue and red indicating the unit is in pairing mode. Make sure the headset and PinPal are close to each other. When both units are paired, the PinPal LED will flash blue and so will the headset LED. This process usually takes less than 30 seconds. Note that it is best to perform this operation where there are not many electronic devices around that would cause interference. Sometimes, depending on how full the bar or Expo is, you may need to walk out to the lobby or clear area for busy environments. This might happen if you are close to your wifi router etc..

Test your PinPal:

Press the volume up button several times on your headset. Put your headset on with the buttons on the right side. Grab the left channel PinPal(the larger main unit) and speak into the underside microphone(microphone holes are on the bottom of your PinPal). You should hear yourself talk in both speakers on the headset. This is mono mode and is used for older machines that only offer one speaker (mono). Grab the right channel PinPal (smaller unit)and insert the supplied audio cable into the main PinPal unit(look for a hole with a jack in it). Be sure to insert the plug into the jack all the way in by applying a slight inward pressure until the plug will no go any further. A new PinPal will have a tight connection. You are now using your PinPal in stereo mode. Speak into the bottom of the left and right PinPal channels to test. You should now hear yourself distinctively between the left and right channels.

Mute Mode:

When using your PinPal, If you accidentally press the power button on the PinPal or the power button on the headset, ALL AUDIO IS MUTED. This usually happens if you hand the headset to someone else and they press the button by accident. When handing over the next players turn, hand over the headset by the headband with two hands in the proper left/right configuration.

You are now ready to use your PinPal. Here are a few hints to get the most out of it:

-The PinPal will automatically adjust the volume to your headset even if the owner operator has the volume set low or high. From there you can readjust it using the volume control on your headset. 

-If the volume on the machine is all the way down, the PinPal will not work. 

-The buttons always go on the right side of the headset. Use your right thumb to feel for the buttons to adjust volume. Pressing the center button will mute all audio.

Positioning:

Although you can put the PinPal just about anywhere on the speaker grill and get great sound, sometimes there can be a positive effect by slightly moving the PinPal on the speaker grill into a different location. Performance depends on the age of the game and speaker configuration. For instance on Spike 2 and Spike 3 Stern games(Godzilla, Jaws etc...)the sweet spot position is upper middle center of the grill. The best time to test this is before you drop money in the game. Install the PinPal on the grills , then press the flipper buttons and the game will likely present feature audio. You can use this to set your volume level on your headset before you play.

Legue and Tournement Play:

During legue or tournment play, its best to put your PinPal up before dollars are inserted. If not, be careful not to launch a ball or start a game by accidentally pressing the center start button when leaning over and installing your PinPal. In addition, if you need to walk away from the game your for any reason such as to use the rest room, if it is within 30 meters, you should be able to hear the game just fine and listen for your turn!
